China To Launch First Space Station Module This Month [AFP]

China will take the first step toward building its own space station later this month with the launch of its unmanned Tiangong-1 space module, AFP reported.

A spokesman for the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center told AFP that Tiangong-1, which is slated to orbit the Earth for two years, will be launched between Sept. 27 and 30.

The launch originally was planned for 2010,but China postponed it for “technical reasons.”
